TRIP TO GETTYSGURG AND LANCASTER

It was a beautiful clear fall day for a trip to Gettysburg, PA. Upon arriving we were greeted by thousands of Black Eye Susans gracing the entrance and parking lots to the visitors center. I have not been to Gettysburg in years and forgot about the beauty of the area. Recently I heard about the restoration of a 377 foot painting of Pickett's Charge was now on display. I am still in awe seeing it and listening to the narrative. This alone was well worth the drive up.
After lunch in town we went on to Lancaster, PA. I have always enjoyed browsing through the little Amish towns at a slow pace. I enjoyed the feeling of getting out of the madness around Washington for a couple of days. Turning off the radio, TV and not looking at a, newspaper helped me tune out the bull**** of the election. I also needed to stop thinking about the credit mess and lower my blood pressure. Why some of the greedy bas**** haven't been put in jail and why they are allowed to spend thousands of taxpayers (bailout) dollars for a luxury week in California while I worry about my retirement fund, which is less then they spent that weeek. I am sick of the whole situation and was happy to turn my attention much more pleasant things even if it was only for a couple of days..
